Beneath the Surface

Try out some new creative embellishing techniques and simple curved piecing to create your own version of this unique art quilt. This pattern can adapted to suit any fabrics and a variety of embellishments such as beading and textured appliqué motifs.
Techniques

• curved piecing


• insertion of additional strips of fabric


• use of Angelina Fibres


• free form quilting with walking foot or free motion


• bobbin work with decorative threads


• basic beading stitches


• finishing techniques including bindings and facings and hanging sleeves

Class length - one to two days. If two day class selected, quilt top may completed with instruction in beading and finishing may be possible
Class outcome - quilt top underway, angelina fibre shapes and separate bead sample piece
